Lockpicks and Keys... drop rings?
As rare as it is for keys and picks to drop, how about adding a percent chance that multiple keys/picks drop if one will. For example:
If a key/pick is dropped
20% chance two on the ring
5% chance three on the ring
1% chance four on the ring
.1% chance five on the ring
Just a thought... those of us that burn through them probably wouldn't mind this too much at all. They don't drop often enough as it is...

I expect the drop rate of keys is set in a way teh devs want. Doing this will just mean they change that drop rate.
If you currently have a 5% chance that a drop from a monster will be a key, making it possible to have 2 drop from that monster means the drop rate just increased to 10%. If it is only a 20% chance 2 drop, they will just adjust the drop rate so the percentages still come out to 5% (based on any number of keys dropping).
Not to be rude, but shouldn't you just ask for there to be an increase in the drop rate of keys? Isn't that what you want afterall?

/signed, they're so rare. XD I'm sure as Magma said that the devs are satisfied with the drop rate, but I'd love them to implement something like this.
Maybe your Lucky score can affect it slightly, as it affects the chances of you keeping your 'picks?

I was attempting to reply but my maths is alittle surreal, somehow I worked out that if we use the idea of 5% chance of a lockpick dropping and and 1% of the original 5% for it to be 5 lockpicks, I somehow ended in negative figures
But thats the jest of what I was thinking. If you follow my crazy logic.

0.1% of 5% is 0.005% How can you get negatives when dividing two positve numbers ?
I can't believe how many people don't want to save money
Let me guess your the PvP crowd? I can't think why a PvE'er would want more grind, making money for more picks when theres a small chance of more than one
Those figures don't mean every foe has a 20% chance to drop 2 picks it means they have a X% (current chance) times 0.2 chance to drop 2 picks

I'm not a PVP person, never was and doubtful I'll ever will be.
What is the reason for asking for an increase of drops?? Because players want more?? It is not even because the item is not readily available. Lockpicks itself is not something that one will not survive if they can't afford one nor is it set at a ridiculous price!! I just don't see the reason behind altering the way an item is dropped and hence the possbility of a drop with increased quantity.
I would appreciate it for something like this to happen on a weekend like a special event, but not in normal game play.

Am I understanding your logic?
You want, not to increase the drop rate, but rather monkey with the "5%" chance there is now?
If that is the case, I vote yes!
I read it like this...
The drop rate for keys/picks is (hypothetically) 5%. You want to break that 5% into chances that we would get more than 1 key/pick per drop.
So 5% = 100%
Of that there would be:
85% chance to get 1
15% chance to get 2
5% chance to get 3
1% chance to get 4
0.1% chance to get 5
So you would not really increase the drop rate of 5% and as you can see the chances of getting a multiple drop are still very small, but, the possibility would be there.
I am frankly a little annoyed that more keys don't drop more and I have to spend so much money on these items.

Actually no... if you increase the drop rate of one thing it comes at the expense of something else. Keep the rate the same but give a quantitative variety is what I'm talking about.

Bingo! Exactly! Let's face it... if you're in hard mode and a lockpick drops, the next chest you come across is likely going to be opened. All this would do is give a little chance that when that pick drops it's multiple, which would allow people that don't tend to buy and use lockpicks (because of the cost?) more opportunity to open chests and allow those of us that consider lockpicks to be a staple part of our diet that greater thrill of suddenly seeing a multiple pick drop.
Everyone wins with no negatives.
Wouldn't it be nice if on occasion someone from ANet would pop in here and offer opinions on ideas... sigh...

At least in those weekends this should be like that.
Ok... double jey or triple key weekend...
What is the double of almost nothing? Nearly nothing.
At leat in those weekends they should both double the drops and make the drops double.
